There are a lot of themes in the movie the last summurai. I think one of the best theme is belief in causes. It tells us that everyone who live has a goal to live. I think this is really important. People live on the earth should have a destiny of doing something.
The other important theme is be proud of who you are. I think everyone should be proud of who they are. Everyone on the earth is a unique person. No one is a exact same person as others, so everyone should be proud of themselves.

newton's law and Kinetic friction and Static friction

The example I saw for newton's first law is the rolar-coster. When the rolar-coster stop immediately, you will feel that you are going to fly out. Because a moving object tends to stay moving.

I also saw an example for newton's second law. I saw two pirate ships at friday. according to newton's second law. It tells us that a machine with a bigger mass needs more energy than the small one. The bigger the pirate ship is the more energy it needs to move it.

I saw an example for kinetic friction, which was when the rolar-coster stopping. Its wheel slowing it down provide kinetic friction to make the rolar-coster stopped.

An example I saw for static friction is the pirate ship. Enable to let the ship move, the machine have to provide a power over the static friction of the pirate ship, so it would move.

In this current events pointed out that, the scientist predicted, because of global warming, the rain fall in South Africa will decrease dramatically. This is going to caused serious drought is South Africa, and people are going to be thirsty. Not only will the rain fall will decrease in certain area, but in some area, will have too much rain fall. Places like india, Srilanka, ... the rain fall will increase dramatically. Global warming is going to cause serious problem on the earth.

Why is a drawing a sketch an important part of the scientific method and why do you always neglect this step!?!?

I think drawing a sketch is important. It gives you a better idea of understanding the question. Drawing a sketch also gives you a better idea of what you are building. When you draw out a sketch you know which direction you are going, and then you can work faster and better while you are doing the project. I think sometimes we neglect this step, because some times we don't fallow the sketch that we draw, because the sketch it self is too hard to be built. And sometimes we just want to built it first then fix it later.

Jaguar Paw

After the jaguar paw go into the forest, they were really tired. They walked for a long time in the dark rainy forest. When they were hungry, the jaguar paw hunted several rabbit to feed the family. After a few days of walk, they saw a village. Around the village, they saw a lot of starving people. They were all hungry and sick, because of the diseases that the Spanish brought. Jaguar Paw and his family try to keep in distance with the villager, because they are afraid to get the diseases getting too close. Disappointed and depressed, the Jaguar Paw and his family have to move on.
They climb over mountains and cross over rivers. One day, Jaguar Paw heard a loud noise in sleep. He woke up immediately, and tell his family to hide in the caves. He went out try to find out what is happening. He hide in the woods and glimpse out. He saw a troop with weapons that he never saw before chasing the Mayas soldiers. He saw the mayas soldiers die without being touch. He was really frighten and scared. Then he saw the clothes that the Spanish wear is extremely hard, the Mayas try to kill them with their sowards and spears, but it just doesn't work at all. The saw hundreds of mayas being killed and shot. He sprint back to the cave, and tells his family to run quickly, because the spanish is coming towards them. The Jaguar paw carries his two sons and run as fast as he could. His wife fallows behind them. They heard the gun shots and people yelling behind them. They run faster. After a running for a day, they were really tired and fall a sleep.
When the Jaguar Paw and his family woke up. They were on a bed. Jaguar Paw sits up, and discovered that they were in a village. The people in the village were happy and healthy. Jaguar and his family then settle in that village for the rest of his life, living happily ever after.

The climate change on the earth, had effect on the number of birds coming to Taiwan. because the climate is getting hotter and hotter in Taiwan. Taiwan is no longer a capable place for the birds, so every year the number of birds coming to Taiwan is decreasing. I think we have to react to this problem fast, or else maybe one day Taiwan will be as hot as the equator.

Compare and contrast maya technology and other civilization

I think the biggest differences between the mayan and the other civilization, is that the Mayans had city states, which the other civilization don’t. the Mayans had a lot of different cities and they were all called the Mayas, but the other civilizations almost only had one city. I think this is one of the biggest difference between the Mayas and the other civilizations.
Some of the similarities including the technology they develop, and the irrigation system, and the government. They are all some kind similar.

Our group is really being active learners, by designing the path. We were really active and hard working. We think critically how would the marble bounce and travel when we flick it, which also shows us as a critical thinker. I think our group did a great jab on teamwork. Everyone is responsible for a part, and every did a great job on their part, which shoes our whole group are beeing person of high character.

HOW DO WE BUILD OUR TOWER

we were trying to copy 101 tower. so we can build it really really high with out falling.
we wrapped the paper together, then put it together.
ours was the highest, but it fall at last.
i think we should put more of the paper to build it stronger, instead of building it higher.
i thought we are going to win, but our falls.
some of the skills we use is try to build the tower with out the paper
then build it with real paper.

i think the biggest reason that something floats and something sinks, because some of them have higher density, but some to them have lower density. The higher the density is, the object sinks more. For example: the pink color liquid sinks the most because it is the most dense liquid. i think the reason that some of the object float in the middle of the bottle is because its density is between the top liquid and the bottom liquid, that's why it floats in the middle.
i don't think that it is going to separate on Monday, because some of the liquid inside is mixed , and it won't separate.

air is matter. it has mass and volume. because when you blew up a balloon, the air actually fills up inside the balloon to make it bigger. And air actually have weight, which is air pressure. so i think that air is really a matter.

schindler's list movie

in the schindler's list movie. i see that mr. schindler changes from a person who only knows how to think for himself to a person who knows how to help and save other peoples life. i am really impress that he can think of others, especially they are jews, which shows more that he is a kind person. and i can see big different inside his mind from the beginning of the movie.
i can also see a big difference in the general. he change from a person who kills anyone he felt like. to a person who actually know how to think.

this week in our class. we go through the progress of our project. i have some of the questions done, but some i still have to search on them. it is really hard for me to search on information, because i am not a native speaker so it really makes me searching the informations harder, plus i get a country that didn't really involved in WWI. so i had to work harder on my project.

Burma dictatorship

in this article, i found out that the reason that Burma's dictatorship stay in power. the reason is "fear". Burma uses its military to kill people that don't obey them. so once there's a person try to start a revolution they kill them to let the people around them to be fear. since 1988, thousands of people had been killed because they try to go against the dictatorship in Burma.
after the cyclone passes, more people want to start a revolution, because they think the governments did not do a good job while the cyclone came, so Burma's politics is now in a mess. the idea of democracy had come on the stage again, to over throw the government.

earthquake in China

this article is about Taiwan sending resources to help the people that is hurt in the earthquakes. Taiwan send 11 tons of resources to China to help them. the major resources that is send includes: blankets, drinks, food, and jackets. it is really expensive to send resources from Taiwan to China, so most of the resources that is send, are resources that is really emergent.
and as time goes there will be more and more flights sending resources to China, and also pick up people that is stuck in the airport, so they can come back.

i think the ww2 video is really interesting it shows as a lot of facts, and interesting history. i think i am really being an active learner and critical thinker when i am watching the ww2 videos. i also learn deeper of what are the causes and effects of ww2, and how dictatorship would came in power. me and jordan take a lot of notes while we are watching the video, which really shows us as an active learner.

this week in class i am really being a critical thinker in the class. because when i find some informations, i have to think critically that how can this information help me to answer my question. it is really hard to find the answer that directly answers the questions, so i have to evaluate all the informations first than answer the question after, which involves a lot of critical thinking skill, so this week i found out i was really a critical thinker.

In Burma, their dictatorship is facing biggest street protest for two decades. the protests are lead by the young buddhist monks. they think that they should have more political freedom in Burma, so they protest one the streets to fight for more political freedoms. there are estimated about 400000 to 500000 monks that fight against the dictator. many of them were young, and because that they are young, they know that they should have more political freedom, so they fight against the dictatorship in Burma.

north korea have been a dictatorship since 1948. it separates itself form south korea. doing this isolates north korea form south korea. the dictatorship of north korea also makes a lots of tension in asia, because its military has nuclear bombs, which are not allowed, but they make it anyway, so it really creates tension to each country about north Korea's strong military.
now there are actually more and more people wants the government in korea to be change, because they wants to have more freedom, and rights. but because they had such a government that they have no voice, so they can't change the government, which is really bad and sad.
Because north korea is a dictator, so their government chose to focus on military, which most of the people don't appreciate it, but because it was a dictator, so everything that the government decide can't be stop or change.

Creating: i think we think creative when we are doing our projects. like imovie, because we have to be creative, so we can make a video.

evaluating: i think evaluating is like when we think about how an event will effect us and the world, because we have to think from many different ways, and think really critically

analyzing: i think analyzing is like when we look at a data or some informations, and we try to do some observations for it.

applying: i think applying is like when we learn something in class, then we try to use it out side of the class.

understanding: i think understanding is like when we read a message or writing, and we understand and knows what it's talking about.

remembering: i think remembering is just reading the same thing over and over again and have all the information in your head, but you don't know how to use it.

this week in class we saw a video about WW2. after i saw the video, the biggest question in my mind is why would the "axis" lose?. they have such strong military and lot of soliders..... there is no reason for them to lose. the other question is that, why they didn't even keep any of the colonies to be part of there country after the war? they had conquere so many lands, why wouldn't them be able to keep some of them.

today in class, we work on our project about the greeks. i think i am going to do a research on the parthenon. because it really interest me that an old empire can create such a beautiful building. i am also interested in "why " they build it. i think i am pretty much an active learner when i am doing this research. because i search on many website and try to find many information, but it seems that there are not much of them. i hope i can do my best on the project and get a good grade. :)
